Adrienne, my dear friend/ex-roommate/ex-colleague at Moschino for 4 years in Milan, came to visit us with her son, Curtis, last weekend!
We walked for hours around Belgrade, mostly here in Stari Grad (the Old City), and for the first time I was the one leading the way, showing our guests around, like a real local from Dorcol :)
Curtis and Maya got along great, playing with Legos and reading Barbapapa books in Italian, but I think they enjoyed the playground (it was about 2 degrees C outside that day), and eating sandwiches and cakes in a café most...
Aside from seeing a bit of the city (although 3 days is not enough time when you have kids in tow), Ad + Curt got to have some of the best Serbian food in the city, chez Dragana of course! Punjene paprike (stuffed peppers), Kiseli kupus (a sort of sauerkraut dish that i looooove), Cheese and spinach pies, Cabbage pie, Urnabez, Lepinja, Ajvar, Chocolate mousse cake, Apple cake... and I'm sure there was more that I'm not remembering right now. She really went out of her way and it was a delicious weekend for all of us.
Maya is already asking when they'll come again.

Ummm! all that food! It really was yummy! Still have unchanged dinars which means we'll have to come back soon to spend them. I think Belgrade will be nice in the summer too!
ReplyDeleteIf you havent noticed, Maya and Curtis are the "surprise" in the Kinder Surprise.. :-)
